To keep your Amish furniture in condition, we recommend you use a good furniture oil, which you can purchase in different brands. You can e-mail us below for suggestions.

We personally like to remove all the items setting on the furniture, then oil in the evening and return the items in the morning. This allows time for the oil to penetrate the furniture. I like to place doilies on my furniture and don't what the oil to penetrate the thread. Of course, this is a personal preference. You may have other methods to achieve the same results.

We have heard customers say the orange oil has turned their furniture orange. We have not used orange oil so can not speak from experience. This is just something we thought we would pass along.

If you have a ding or scratch in your furniture, place a drop of water on the damage area only. Remove any water from the surrounding area. Let set for approx 30 minutes to an hour. The water will cause the wood to swell. Check the spot periodically to see if the wood is where you need it to be to match the existing surface. There are no guarantees, but we have seen it work for us. Small touch ups to the stain may be necessary if scratches are deep. You may need to visit your local hardware or paint store to find a stain pen to best match your stain color. We recommend testing the stain pen in an unexposed area.
